Joseph Addo
During this year’s Pastors’ School, I took some delegates soul winning near our church. I was able to win a man named Robert Benn to Christ. Benn got excited about our church, and he came and brought two of his cousins, John and Joseph Addo. That Sunday all three of these men followed the Lord in baptism. This was in October 2011.
Since then, Joseph Addo has developed a great zeal for reaching others with the Gospel. He has led to Christ many of the children and teenagers who live in his house. He has also brought many of them to church and led them to get baptized. He recently won his best friend Kwadwo to Christ, along with Kwadwo’s wife. Kwadwo and his wife have followed the Lord in baptism. Joseph has been going soul winning during the week and then taking me to his converts when we go soul winning together on Saturdays. He usually brings 10 or more people to church with him each week. Last week he brought 4 of his coworkers to church whom he had won to Christ, and 2 of them followed the Lord in baptism. Joseph told me that if we would leave America to come and preach the Gospel to him, then he needs to also preach the Gospel to others. It is so encouraging to see his zeal to win lost souls to Christ!
Discipleship Booklets
Recently our church developed discipleship lessons that we have printed in individual booklets. These booklets are written with questions for the reader to answer by looking up Bible verses. Our purpose for these lessons is to teach our new converts and church members key fundamental truths that will confirm them in the faith. When a convert finishes a lesson, he takes it to his Sunday school teacher. The teacher checks the answers and makes sure the material is understood by the student. The student is then given the next lesson in the series.
We are seeing great results from this program! Some of our faithful attendees have gotten the assurance of their salvation. Many of these have since gotten saved and baptized. We have also seen an increase in the number of soul winners in our church and an increase in the number of people getting baptized who were won to Christ during the week. Over 180 church members are actively working through these booklets, with more starting each week. It is so exciting to see Matthew 28:19-20 at work here in Kumasi!

I tell my converts that they can learn more in the Bible, but I don’t feed them enough milk before asking them to chew the meat. I wish there were a way I could use those discipleship booklets too.
